Fridges & Freezers in Tamale: Capacity and Running-Cost Guide

Match capacity to your routine

Consider how many people will use the appliance, how frequently you shop, and whether you need more space for fresh food or frozen food. Check usable internal space rather than relying only on the outside dimensions.

Measure the location

Measure the doorway, proposed location and nearby furniture. Allow for door opening and the ventilation space specified by the manufacturer. Check whether the door swing will obstruct a passage or cabinet.

Understand fridge versus freezer needs

A fridge-freezer combination may suit mixed daily storage. A separate chest or upright freezer can be more practical when you need additional frozen-food space. Consider access, organisation and the amount of floor space available.

Ask about electricity use

Compare the model-specific energy label or manufacturer information where available. Running cost depends on the actual appliance, usage, electricity tariff, ventilation and room conditions. Avoid assuming all appliances of one type use the same power.

Check care and warranty details

Ask how to clean and maintain the appliance, what to do after delivery before first use, and the specific warranty terms. Verify current model availability, included accessories and price directly with the shop.

Questions to ask before buying

Should I buy a refrigerator or a deep freezer?

That depends on whether you need everyday chilled-food access, longer frozen-food storage or both. Tell us what you store and how much space you have.

How can I compare electricity use?

Ask for the energy label or manufacturer consumption information for each exact model, rather than comparing only appliance size.
